Austria Atzinger Stubai
Wonderful family-run hotel in a quiet elevated location with great mountain views. A winter-sport paradise for families based in the International ski resort of Stubai. The Kids Club Cavallino is a riding kindergarten which allows parents some free time to relax or ski or ride themselves, knowing the kids are having fun in the hands of qualified staff. The kids club is divided into Mini-kids from 2-4 years, Junior Kids from 4 years and Maxi Kids from 8-12 years old. Teenie Club Cavallo offers riding courses for beginners and experienced riders with jumping, competition training etc...Cool Teens Lounge with wifi and chill corner. The FEBS Fun-and-Games riding course is run as part of the riding kindergarten or you can sign up separately (max 4-6 in each group) and focuses on games around the horse and riding with just a rug and surcingle to develop balance and understanding of the horse. Kids from the age of 6 can join the Horseback Acrobatics course - great fun and a good way to get confidence around horses. Kids from the age of 8 can participate in the excellent Horse Whisperer course - this teaches children how to behave around horses and to really understand them. There is a special weekly course for teens (from the age of 12) which includes 9 riding lessons in a group. Rides out are possible from a partner yard in the village (c.15mins). Individual riding lessons available for children and adults of all ages throughout the year.
The Hotel
Various different rooms and family suites available, all including 3/4 board: gala and themed dinners and one night a week a special 'Witches Dinner' or a 'Tiger's Tea' for the kids. Every Friday is Fondue Party night with chocolate, meat and vegetarian fondues. Enjoy the Emperor's Breakfast with a free coffee machine offering Cappucinos and Cafe Lattes. 30 different teas and every Sunday a sparkling wine is offerred with freshly made waffles. You can make picnic snacks to take away from breakfast. Afternoon tea and cakes are offered in Winter from 3.30pm. Special kids menus, free drinks and free ice cream! This is a wonderful venue for all ages catering for babies upwards. Parents of young babies can relax with a babysitter bookable for a small fee, nappies, high chairs, push chairs and babybaths available on site and a baby alarm for the room. Older children will find a selection of activity clubs suited to all ages.
Free ski bus in Winter, free bike hire, but don't thin the Atzinger is just a 'sport hotel' - their fitness room in the basement has been turned into a cool wine cellar/bar for wine tasting evenings!
The hotel reception will arrange your riding lessons, your massages and beauty treatments and also your ski passes and ski school.
The Riding:
One of the largest Equestrian facilities in Tyrol, with a lovely view down the whole of the Stubai Valley. It consists of a 60 x 20m indoor riding arena and a 40 x 20m outdoor riding arena - a riding school with its own stables for 8 horses and 4 ponies. Dressage in group or private lessons to Class L, jumping to 80cm and lunge for beginners or correction. The handling of horses is encouraged here so get stuck in with cleaning saddles, grooming, tacking up.

The KIDS CLUB CAVALLINO : Indoor play area (175 m2) for 30 kids - lots of fun any time of year, any weather: Mini-kids from 2-4 years, Junior Kids from 4 years and Maxi Kids from 8-12 years old. Open from 9am to 9pm from Monday to Friday. Daily visit to the Children's farm and a free ride with the ponys Cosmo and Bounty either outside or in the huge indoor riding arena. Children can also play with the bunnies and guinnea pigs.
TEEN Club Cavallo from 12 years and up. The children will be collected from the hotel play room and brought back in the afternoon so that you have a few hours to ski or ride or relax. Hours flexible to fit in with your day.
The FEBS Fun-and-Games riding course is run as part of the riding kindergarten or you can sign up separately: this is for kids age 3 to 9 years (max 4-6 in each group) and focuses on games around the horse and riding with just a rug and surcingle to develop balance and understanding of the horse. The children are split into two teams and the team with the ponies have the extra supervision of a certified pedagogic riding instructor. The children on the floor play a game during the riding sessions - the other children are lead around them on the ponies. Of course the children who are riding are also involved in the game. Each child rides 3 times minimum. In addition they learn how to groom or feed the horse with fun and games, and some basic knowledge about the character of the horses.
Horseback Acrobatics
Kids from the age of 6 can join the Horseback Acrobatics course - great fun and a good way to get confidence around horses. First, the kids groom the horse together and afterwards they get to know the three fundamental gaits of horses in single and group activities. Horseback acrobatics are fun and help to gain balance and develop confidence to the horse.
Horse Whisperer Courses
Children from the age of 8 years can participate in the horse-whisperer-course and have the opportunity to learn more about horses. The horse is a gregarious animal and it tests human beings - can you lead and protect it? You will learn about a horse's behavior and how you should behave around horses. You will learn how to correctly groom and how to catch and lead horses. If you can properly understand a horse, you will be accepted by it as a rider.

Teens from the age of 12 years can book this course. It includes work on the lunge, in order that our riding instructor can evaluate the proficiency of the rider. There are 9 riding lessons over the week taken in a group, one lesson in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Individual riding Courses - for adults and children
This is the perfect offer for anybody who has always wanted to learn horse riding and who wants to get closer to horses. We'll bring the horse into the stable, clean it, saddle it and you'll get lessons corresponding to your level. It's possible to develop a bond with horses by learning something about horse acrobatics etc. This package includes only single lprivate essons.
Hacking: It is also possible to go for a hack with our partner company – ca. 15 min from the hotel. At the time one hour costs £15 per hour.
Riding instructors: Christiane Knause is at state certified instructor, professional rider and instructor for the disabled. For many years, Christiane Knaus has successfully managed this private riding school. Riding lessons for beginners and advanced training from the first lunge rides to trainer support for competitive riders. Christiane has two fully qualified instructors to help her and also various yard assistants.
The SKIING
In just 5 minutes from the hotel you will be on the ski piste of Schlick 2000 with the ATZI DUCK ski bus (it's yellow!) Pre-book your ski pass and ski school course on your arrival day in the hotel so you have a relaxed start on Sunday mornings! Live camera from your hotel TV of the ski area. The Stubai Glacier is just 20 minutes away for experienced skiers. Very long ski season with guranteed snow.
Serleslifte Mieders: this sunny ski area has some super cross country trails, at various high altitudes (45km at 1600-1800m) and a fantastic floodlit toboggan run (7.5km) and is great for snow-shoe walks, - all just a few kilometres from the hotel. www.serlesbahnen.at

In Summer:
Riding Summer Camp for kids with 7 qualified kids nannies. Kids will be taken off to have fun and games all day whilst you can join in the fantastic guided hiking programme to a different panorama destination on 5 days. Kids can join you on some days if you like. Or you can relax, mountain bike, take a paragliding course or even hang out by the pool and read a book!

Horse Whispering Course: (from 8 years old) . Excellent for expanding your child's knowledge about horses. Here the behavior of the horse is explaned. The child learns how to correctly separate the horse from of the group, groom it properly and then to perform in the right way. The nearest airport is Innsbruck. Airport Transfers by car from Innsbruck can be arranged to meet any flights. Short transfers!
Innsbruck: EasyJet is increasing the number of flights to Innsbruck this winter from 8 Gatwick flights last season, to up to 14 flights a week from Gatwick, as well as an additional flight each from Bristol and Liverpool, with each airport now operating three direct flights a week. BA are also operating a weekly Saturday flight from London City airport.

Environmental issues
You can calculate the CO2 emission of your journey to Austria at Climate Care and compensate for your 'environmental footprint'. If you let us know how much it is we will be happy to pay this on your behalf.
Austria has one of the highest levels of household recycling and organic farming in Europe. It also has some of the cleanest lakes, is 47% forested and produces nearly 70% of its energy from renewable sources such as water.
In the office, we use paper from sustainably managed forests and recycled material where possible.
We encourage you to travel onwards from your arrival airport by rail when possible, and will book seats on your behalf.
How to book
To make a non-binding enquiry or a provisional booking, please fill in the reservations & enquiries form. Once we have checked availability, we will send you a quote with a holiday reference number by email. To secure your holiday, a deposit is required of £200 per person (or half the cost of the holiday, whichever is lower) and forward any insurance premiums to the insurance company. You should book your flights at this stage, and forward details to us so that we can organise your transfers. The balance of payment must be received by us not less than eight weeks before departure.
