The Ellmauhof is one of Austria's renowned 'Kinderhotels' offering a perfect venue for families. There is free childcare for children aged 1 upwards with a range of super activity clubs, including one for teenagers. Holidays here are on a full board all inclusive basis

In Summer, set against rolling Alpine meadows, you are a close walk into the heart of Hinterglemm village or you can set off on one of a myriad of marked hiking trails within the valley.

The Spa

In addition to the new indoor relax and adventure pool, the beauty and massage centre now also has 5 massage and beauty cabins. The hotel offers hot-stone massages, exfoliating treatments, chocolate and herbal oil massages, all the classic massages of course and relaxing and fragrant herbal stamp massages.

The indoor petting zoo can be found in the upper story of the stables. There is heating for when it is cold to make sure that everyone is comfortable. The Petting Zoo also has a play farmhouse, a slide, a sandpit and wall-mounted games.
Adventure Farm: all little farmers can try the work, which the boss Konrad Schwabl does in the large stable, in the new mini farm. Here you will find a mini barn with toy animals and real animals such as goats, chickens,and rabbits, pedal tractors, hay, straw and sawdust for bedding, play garages with various trailers for the pedal tractors so that the entire farm work can be done, indoor area to feed the goats, original old tractor to play, cottage for child care .

The Ellmauhof offers perfect riding experiences for all ages with a riding kindergarten, riding school, pony riding, hacking - novice and pro alike can enjoy riding a horse well matched to their ability.
The Ellmauhof riding school offers riding courses and lunge lessons for the novice and for experienced riders in dressage, cavaletti and jumping. The hacking though the Pinzgau mountains is stunning and can be enjoyed by all.
Horses:18 Haflingers (including stud mares and foals), three smaller ponies, five Icelandics.
The hotel boasts well qualified teaching staff with a State Accredited riding teacher and mountain hacking guide. There is also the opportunity to have carriage driving lessons. You need no riding experience to try driving. The facilities include an outdoor arena and small indoor riding arena for winter and lunge lessons. There is also a covered pony carousel walk for led pony rides.

Skiing: Sallbach Hinterglemm has long been welcoming skiers and is suited to all levels:
Beginners: Hinterglemm has an excellent ski school and gentle beginner's slopes where novices can practice their technique.
Intermediates: The Ski Circus area has everything for the intermediate skier, combining 200kms of wonderful pistes on one interlinking circus. The choice of runs varies from wide open descents to long tree-lined pistes.
Advanced: Competent skiers will revel in the wealth of challenging skiing provided by this fantastic ski circus. A must is the long black run under the Schattberg gondola and the off-piste possibilities are absolutely sensational.

Week riding courses for novices and advanced riders
Here you will find out all you need to know about horses. From correct grooming through the various dressage figures to haltering and saddling. From correct posture and holding of reins through different riding aids to tricky dressage practice and your first jumps over obstacles.
Our riding courses take place from Monday to Friday (13 units). You ride on Haflingers and Icelandics.

Just three years old and already on horseback? Of course! It is never too early to introduce children to animals. Our riding instruction for little ones aged 3-6 is perfectly organised so that parents don’t have to worry. After warming up and relaxing for a while on the ground, children first sit astride our wooden horses Steffi and Herkules. In this way children are carefully introduced to the necessary attitude and behaviour with large animals. If practice goes well the children can sit on a real horse - naturally we use the best-natured and most patient animal in the stable.
All children aged 3 years and over can enjoy daily carousel rides on our child-friendly ponies – a daily adventure for little horse friends and animal lovers.
Of course, saddled ponies are also available for hire and can be led by mum or dad along the specially signposted routes. Just ask at reception and don’t forget your helmet!

Little rider - big fun
When small children are involved with horses comprehensive care is all-important. There is only ever one child on the horses - one riding instructor holds the lunge while another stands by the child and leads it. Two childcare assistants are on hand to entertain the other children so that they don’t get bored while they watch. As a result their first riding lesson becomes an experience that no child forgets. Mountain World - a special highlight for all the family!
The riding kindergarten takes place in June and September.

Environmental issues
You can calculate the CO2 emission of your journey to Austria at Climate Care and compensate for your 'environmental footprint'. If you let us know how much it is we will be happy to pay this on your behalf.
Austria has one of the highest levels of household recycling and organic farming in Europe. It also has some of the cleanest lakes, is 47% forested and produces nearly 70% of its energy from renewable sources such as water.
In the office, we use paper from sustainably managed forests and recycled material where possible.
We encourage you to travel onwards from your arrival airport by rail when possible, and will book seats on your behalf.
How to book
To make a non-binding enquiry or a provisional booking, please fill in the reservations & enquiries form. Once we have checked availability, we will send you a quote with a holiday reference number by email. To secure your holiday, a deposit is required of £200 per person (or half the cost of the holiday, whichever is lower) and forward any insurance premiums to the insurance company. You should book your flights at this stage, and forward details to us so that we can organise your transfers. The balance of payment must be received by us not less than eight weeks before departure.
