Winter Riding at the Kroller Family hotel and Western Ranch

Perched on a high pass in small village in spectacular Tyrolean landscape. Four spectacular rides out are offered in Winter into the deep snow on Criollos, Quarter Horses and Paint Horses. Kids’ paradise including all day kids’ activity club (free). Western saloon bar with live music. Spa. Indoor swimming pool. Own ski school and ski hire shop. Connected to the huge Zillertal ski area. Holidays here are on a full board, all inclusive basis.


In the snow, the Kroller turns into a magical winter wonderland. Spectacular rides out on Criollos, Quarter Horses and Paint Horses equipped with special winter shoes with spikes and hoof grips (rubber cushion between hoof and shoe). Western style riding. 4 different adventure rides into the deep snow of the wild and romantic Tyrolean mountains; ride to the Lackenalm, to the Almstuberl, to the Wimmertal and to Gerlos. Children with own hard hats from 11 years old can join the trail rides, which in winter last 2 hours.


The Kroller lies on a high Alpine pass (1300m) with access into the largest ski area in the famous Zillertal Arena. Free ski shuttle bus every 15 minutes from the door of the hotel. Free practice ski slope and house ski lift. Kids' Bobo ski club right by the door of the hotel with a magic carpet and slalom course. Getting there

The nearest airport is Innsbruck. A return minibus or car transfer (minimum 2 people) can be arranged through us. The cost is €155 per car one way. Riding ability

Beginners to advanced riders welcome. Trekking in the snow is for intermediate and advanced riders.
Winter riding is offered subject to weather and snow/ground conditions.

What to bring : Your normal jodhpurs or ski trousers which can be worn over thick tights with thermals underneath, a warm anorak/coat, gloves, scarf and boots with a good tread (essential), and jumper/fleece/long-sleeved t-shirt layers which can be added and removed as required. Although rarely insisted upon outside the UK, you should always wear your hat whilst mounted. Ski balaclava can be worn beneath when required. Although hard hats are available in all our riding establishments (except for children), you are advised to bring your own.
